Habit formation and dependencies

Its a matter of choice.. but sometimes we get so into it without realizing we have already formed a habit.

I formed the habit of depending on other people for my needs.
From having a supportive family who have always provided for my needs.
Positive their intentions may be, it has formed a habit in me.
Even a boy best friend who kind-heartedly gave in to my sweet requests, has made me dependent on him for my wants.

All these have made me lazy to work for the things i need and want.
They have trained me to the habit of just asking and getting.

Now that God has taken the human sources of these wants and needs,
He is teaching me who the real source is..

As shared in last sunday's service, God owns everything here on earth 100%
He is the source
He gave us brains, talents and allowed us to develop skills.
These are His investments in us and He is our partner in this business.
He wants us to use the assets He invested in us, to be productive and to depend on Him for everything as we work out the production, until we gain the fruits of our labor with Him.

We don't have to depend on others for our needs because with Jesus as our shepherd, we have everything we need.. We need only to ask the REAL PROVIDER..

If we have developed the negative habit of depending on other people for our needs, we have to break the habit and form a new one.  Here is a helpful tip:

How is a habit formed?
Habits are behaviors that are often repeated which as a result of that, builds strong neurological connections.
These neurological connections are patterns that have been engraved into the brain and nervous system. The more a habit is repeated, the stronger the neural connection becomes which means the deeper a pattern is engraved.
How to break a habit?
Take the 21-30 day challenge.
Experts claimed that complete abstinence of a habit for 21 to 30 days will be enough to break it.

On top of this.. Pray and ask for God's empowerment to be victorious in our battle against bad habits.
