Reflections on life and finances:
I just realized today that life is actually about management – of our assets, talents, time and even people who cross our path. All these are given to us to take care of. Macbook dictionary gives the following definition of management:

1. to be in charge of (company)
2. administer and regulate (resources under one’s control)
3. have the position of supervising (staff) at work
4. maintain control or influence over (a person or animal)
5. control the use or exploitation (of land)
6. succeed in surviving or attaining one’s aims especially against heavy odds
7. succeed in doing, achieving, or producing (something especially something difficult)
8. succeed in dealing with or withstanding something
9. be free to attend on (a certain day or time)

It basically applies to all aspects of life, be it in work, personal matters and even relationships. This mindset opens a view in life that would make us more careful, mindful, diligent and caring for what we already have or want to have.

We need to always be mindful in making management decisions because all our actions or inactions will bring about consequences and we want all the good consequences and avoid the bad ones. We also have to set goals to make sure that we grow and reproduce whatever we have now. We cannot be complacent, we have to keep on learning and thinking of ways how to innovate and set a new trend or revolutionize and redefine popular or current mindsets.

If you are in the negative spectrum right now, make a list of your debts or concerns and list down ways or means to solve or address them. To get to the positive spectrum, you have to set it as a goal so you can plan or map out your way towards it. You can’t just pray and wait, you have to take action while praying.

Keep an open mind, heart and spirit. Keep learning. Keep thinking of ways how to make things better. Be active. Be involved. Be informed.

The next step is to take the lead. Don’t just follow the bandwagon and stay behind. Aspire to be on the forefront! Even aspire to be the progenitor.

Macbook dictionary defines progenitor as:

1. a person who originates an artistic, political or intellectual movement
2. a person or a thing from which a person, animal or plant is descended or originates

Reflections on romantic relationships
It is actually about God cooking our love story. If we allow Him to finish the recipe, He will come out with a delicious dish. But once we intervene, we disturb the recipe and might put too much of any of the ingredients or even put unnecessary ingredients. Like any dish, it takes time to cook a perfect one and there are processes that go with it. We cannot fast-track the process lest we undercook the dish. Neither can we dilly dally lest we overcook. We also have to allow the great chef to do the perfect cut, which would make the ingredients beautiful together. We really have to allow the chef to do the preparations and the cooking, if we don’t want to get cut or burned.

But we need to understand that some ingredients just take time to cook. This explains the longer waiting time..

And then, He will put the magic seasoning at the perfect moment when all the ingredients are ready. He can easily pour it anytime, but we have to wait for the perfect timing, which would produce the best effect on the dish.

Once it simmers, take hold of yourself. Wait until the chef finally serves the dish. Don’t go ahead of the chef. Don’t eat while it’s in the stove. Don’t eat while its cooking. Wait for the chef. Trust the chef.

In the end, we have to let the chef do the cooking and we just have to focus on serving the purpose He has destined for us so we can finally enjoy the perfect dish.

I want my husband to say someday that I am 2nd best decision he made in his life. The first being accepting God as his personal Lord and Savior.

LESSONS IN CREDIT CARD MANAGEMENT

1. Don’t spend if you don’t have cash to pay for your purchases or expecting cash to pay for it.
2. Credit card is just a tool for purchasing convenience. Credit card is not cash. It must represent how much cash you got or reasonably expected to get.
3. You must pay your bills in full and pay on time to avoid penalties and interests.
4. If you get to the point when you overuse your card, there is an option of deferred payment. Instead of not paying in full and paying the 3.5% interest, avail of deferred payment scheme which offers lower interest rates.
5. Objective is to maintain a good credit standing so you can get more cards and increase credit limit.
6. Think of your card as a pre-approved loan from the bank with low interest rate so keep a good credit standing.
7. Be informed and maximize the advantages and convenience of having a card. Avail promos and freebies.
8. It’s a practical tip to put a sticker with your name and number on the card to make it easier for good finders to give the card back to you in case you lose it.
9. Always check if your card is with you because other people can easily use it. In terms of safekeeping, treat it as a cash, which can easily be appropriated.
10. Immediately inform the credit card company in case of changes in your mailing address or contact number. Not receiving your bills is not a valid excuse in not paying your bills. This tip applies to all kinds of bill. Ignorance of due dates is not an excuse.

Business in Season
If you’re a businessman, make every season an opportunity to earn and make money! On Christmas and new year, instead of spending more and waiting on people to give you gifts, think and think of ways how you can use this chance to produce wealth. Of course always balancing with value and purpose.

It is good then to always keep watch of the coming occasions. Instead of having pity-parties and raising personal expectations, which will just eventually cause your disappointments, think positive and be engaged but with a different perspective, business-mind.

Plan and think ahead. Be creative. That’s how your business will thrive and grow. Keep learning.

Wake up to beautiful mornings

Each day is an opportunity of service. We report to our master and get fresh instructions. We give our best in accomplishing His tasks because we want to please Him.

Next time you wake up, be excited, for a fresh start given by your master. Always ask how you can serve and please Him today. All our work only gains significance when done for Him and according to Him.

Give everything back to Him because everything comes from Him.
